Dr. G.Sengottuvelu is a Senior Consultant & Interventional Cardiologist at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, Chennai. He is an accomplished leader in complex PCI & stenting, and structural heart interventions including percutaneous heart valve replacement & repair (TAVI / TAVR, mitral clip etc.)

Dr. G. Sengottuvelu graduated from the prestigious Madras Medical College, followed by Internal Medicine, and then post graduation in Cardiology. He then undertook a fellowship in interventional cardiology in a prestigious institute in France with world
renowned Dr Marie Claude Morice. Dr.G.Sengottuvelu is recognized for his pioneering work in complex coronary stenting and structural heart valve interventions and has performed over 15,000 procedures in the cath lab

Who is this training program designed for?

This program is designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other healthcare professionals interested in gaining hands-on experience and knowledge about Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedures.

TAVI can also be called Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). There is no difference between TAVI and TAVR - they are just different names for the same procedure. TAVI is more commonly used in the UK, TAVR in the USA.
What will the training cover?

The training will cover a comprehensive range of topics including patient selection, pre-procedure evaluation, step-by-step procedural guidance, handling of equipment, management of complications, and post-operative care. It will also include hands-on simulation sessions for practical learning.
Do I need any prior experience with TAVI procedures?

While prior experience with TAVI or other catheter-based interventions might be beneficial, it is not strictly required. The training program is designed to accommodate participants with varying levels of experience, from beginners to those looking to refine their skills.
How many participants will be in each hands-on session?

To ensure that each participant receives individualized attention and maximum hands-on experience, we limit the number of participants in each session to three, allowing for a total of four groups in rotational sessions throughout the day.
What kind of certification will I receive upon completion?

Participants will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the program, which indicates their involvement and the skills they've gained in TAVI simulation.
Will there be any follow-up training or resources available?
